A Prayer for Direction When I’m Lost
God, I feel lost. I don’t know where I’m going, what I’m supposed to be doing, or who I’m supposed to be becoming. Everyone else seems to have it figured out and I’m just drifting.
Please show me my next step. I’m not asking for the whole map — just the next step. Light up the path in front of me so I can take one confident move forward.
Help me stop comparing my journey to everyone else’s. My path is different and that’s okay. Give me the patience to walk it at my own pace.

Feeling lost doesn’t mean you’re failing — it means you’re transitioning. Here are practical strategies:
– Do the next right thing. You don’t need to see the whole path. What’s one small action you can take today? Small actions build momentum.

– Limit social media comparison. Comparing your internal confusion to someone else’s external confidence breeds despair.
What the Bible Says About Finding Direction
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5-6
Submitting your ways to God means inviting Him into every decision. The promise doesn’t mean the path will be easy, but it will be clear.
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” — Psalm 32:8
God promises comprehensive guidance with His loving eye on you. He doesn’t give directions and walk away — He watches and redirects.

A lamp lights only the next few steps. God gives you enough light for the next step, and then the next. You don’t need to see the destination.

Your current disorientation is not the final chapter. God has plans for you, and those plans are good.
