A prayer for protection — for when the world feels dangerous and you need God’s covering over yourself, your family, and your home. Honest prayers for safety, peace of mind, and trusting God as your shield.
A Prayer for Protection Over My Family
Lord, I can’t be everywhere at once. My family goes out into the world every day — to work, to school, to places I can’t follow — and I worry.
Please cover them with Your protection. Watch over their going out and their coming in. Keep them safe from harm, from accidents, from the evil they might not even see coming.
I’m placing them in Your hands because Your hands are stronger than mine.
Amen.
A Prayer for When the World Feels Unsafe
God, the news is heavy. Every day there’s another story about something terrible happening, and it makes me afraid for the people I love. For myself.
Please be our shield. Not just in the big dangers, but in the small ones too — the commute, the late night, the unfamiliar place. Let Your presence go before us and surround us.

I don’t want to live in fear. I want to live in faith. Help me trust You more than I trust my own anxiety.
Amen.

Why This Prayer Matters
Prayer isn’t about getting the words perfect — it’s about showing up honestly. Whether you’re facing this situation for the first time or the hundredth time, bringing it to God changes something in you. It shifts the weight from your shoulders to His. Use this prayer as a starting point, then let your own words flow from there.
