Protect this child. Grant them health and strength. Surround them with love all their days. And as they grow, may they know from the beginning that they are deeply loved — by us, and by You.

Give us wisdom we don’t have yet. Give us patience when it runs out. Make us the parents this child needs us to be.

God, we love this baby fiercely and we’re also exhausted. The sleepless nights, the uncertainty, the weight of responsibility — we feel all of it at once.

We’re asking for Your presence in the ordinary, relentless parts of new parenthood: the 3am feedings, the moments of self-doubt, the times we look at each other and wonder if we know what we’re doing.

We don’t have to do this perfectly. Help us remember that. You are with us in the learning, in the stumbling, in the beautiful mess of this new season. Thank You for entrusting this child to us.
