I know You tell me not to fear. But knowing that and feeling it are two different things. So I’m asking You to do in me what I can’t do myself: replace the fear with something real. Something that holds when the fear comes back.

Be my courage. Be my steadiness. Remind me of who You are and that whatever I’m facing, I am not facing it alone. You are with me. That is a fact, even when it doesn’t feel like one.

Prayer for When Fear Is Paralyzing You

God, the fear has become paralyzing. I’m avoiding things I shouldn’t avoid. I’m making decisions based on fear instead of faith. It’s affecting my relationships, my work, my peace.

I don’t want to live like this. I was not made for this level of fear — You said that clearly. You did not give me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.

I claim that today, even though I don’t fully feel it yet. Begin to work in me — in my nervous system, in my thoughts, in my unconscious beliefs about what’s safe and what isn’t. Heal the root. Free me from what’s holding me back.
