Prayer After an Anxiety Attack
God, the panic has passed but I’m left feeling shaky and embarrassed and drained. I hate that my body does this. I hate feeling out of control.
Help me be gentle with myself right now. Not critical, not frustrated — just gentle. What happened was hard and my body was trying to protect me, even if it got it wrong.
Help me not to spend the rest of the day bracing for the next one. Bring me back to the present. Give me a quiet mind and a body that can settle.
And Lord — help me get the support I need to address the anxiety that underlies these moments. I don’t want to just manage the attacks; I want to heal what’s underneath.
