Memorial Day Prayer: Honoring Those Who Served and Made the Ultimate Sacrifice

Memorial Day is a day to stop and remember — the men and women who put on the uniform, left their families, and didn’t come home. Their sacrifice is the reason we live in freedom today. It’s right to mark that with prayer.

Thank You for their courage. Thank You for their service. And thank You for the freedom they bought with their lives. May we never take it for granted. Amen.

A Prayer for Gold Star Families

God, Memorial Day is the hardest day for the families who lost someone. The empty chair at the table. The folded flag on the mantle. The photo that never gets older while everyone else does.

Please hold them today. Let them feel the gratitude of a nation that remembers. Let them know that their loved one’s life still matters — and that their sacrifice was not in vain.
