The beginning of a week is a small grace. Whatever last week looked like — whether it was good or whether you’re relieved it’s over — a new week offers a reset. A blank calendar. A chance to begin again.
Starting the week with prayer doesn’t guarantee a perfect seven days. But it does establish something important: who you’re orienting yourself toward, and who you’re trusting to be present in what’s ahead.
Prayer for a New Week
Lord, a new week is beginning. I’m standing at the start of it with everything that carries over from last week — the unfinished things, the unresolved things, the things I’m grateful for — and I’m bringing it all to You before the week begins.
I don’t know what this week holds. Some of it I can see on my calendar; most of it I can’t predict. I’m asking You to go before me into it. To be in the conversations before I enter them, in the decisions before I have to make them.
May this week be marked not by how much I accomplished but by how close I stayed to You. That’s what I want. A week lived in Your presence.

Prayer for a New Week After a Difficult One
God, last week was hard. I’m carrying some of it into this one, and I don’t want to — I want to be able to start fresh, but the weight of what happened is still there.
Help me release what I can release. What I failed at, what hurt me, what I’m still processing — I lay it at Your feet before I step into this new week. I can’t carry last week into this one and expect to be present.
Give me fresh mercies. Not just the concept of them — actual grace for this actual week. I’m asking for a new start, and I trust You to give it.
