A Prayer for Self-Worth When You Feel Like You’re Not Enough

Lord, the voice in my head is loud today. It says I’m not enough — not smart enough, not successful enough, not lovable enough. And if I’m honest, sometimes I believe it. The comparison trap got me again. I looked at someone else’s life and measured my own against it, and I came up short.

But You made me. You shaped me. You saw me before I existed and said I was worth creating. That means my value isn’t up for debate. It isn’t tied to my achievements, my appearance, or what other people think of me. It’s tied to You — and You don’t make mistakes.

Help me hear Your voice louder than the lie. Help me see myself the way You see me — not perfect, but perfectly loved. And help me treat myself with the same grace I’d give a friend. Because if I spoke to my friends the way I speak to myself, I wouldn’t have any friends left.

A Prayer for Self-Worth After Failure or Rejection

God, I failed. Or I was rejected. Or both. And now I’m questioning everything — my abilities, my value, my place in the world. It feels like one mistake or one person’s opinion has erased everything good about me. The rejection letter, the ended relationship, the missed opportunity — they’re all screaming that I’m not enough.

But that’s not true. My worst moment is not my whole story. My rejection is not my definition. And my failure is not my final chapter — unless I let it be. You are the God who redeems, who restores, who takes what is broken and makes it beautiful.

Please pick me up. Dust me off. Remind me that some of the most meaningful lives were built on foundations of failure. And help me believe that You still have a plan for me — even when I can’t see it. Especially when I can’t see it.
