A prayer for safe delivery — for expectant mothers and their families as they prepare for childbirth. Honest prayers for a smooth labor, a healthy baby, and peace in the delivery room.
A Prayer for a Safe Delivery
Lord, the day is coming and I’m equal parts excited and terrified. Please be with me in the delivery room. Guide the doctors and nurses, keep my baby safe, and give me the strength to bring this little one into the world.
Calm my fears. Let every contraction bring me closer to meeting the child I’ve been carrying. And when it gets hard — because I know it will — remind me that I can do this with Your help.
I’m trusting You with both of us.
Amen.
A Prayer for the Partner Waiting
God, I’m watching the person I love go through something I can’t fully understand or help with. I feel helpless and scared and I just want them and the baby to be okay.
Please give me strength to be supportive, calm, and present. Let me be the steady one in the room. And when this baby arrives, let me be the parent they need from day one.
We’re in Your hands.
Amen.

Why This Prayer Matters
Prayer isn’t about getting the words perfect — it’s about showing up honestly. Whether you’re facing this situation for the first time or the hundredth time, bringing it to God changes something in you. It shifts the weight from your shoulders to His. Use this prayer as a starting point, then let your own words flow from there.
