Lord, my family is a mess sometimes. We love each other, but we also push each other’s buttons like nobody else can. We have history, we have baggage, and we have a lot of unsaid things.

Please bring us closer together. Help us communicate with patience instead of defensiveness. Heal the old wounds that keep reopening. And when we’re gathered around the same table, let there be more laughter than tension.

They’re my people. Help me love them well — even when it’s hard.

God, this relationship hurts. Someone I should be close to feels like a stranger, or worse, like an enemy. I’ve tried fixing it and I don’t know what else to do.

Please soften both of our hearts. Remove the pride that keeps us apart. And if reconciliation isn’t possible right now, give me peace with the distance and hope for the future.
